Overview

Low back pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal conditions affecting adults of all ages. It can develop gradually from repetitive strain, poor posture, or muscular imbalances—or appear suddenly after lifting, twisting, or prolonged sitting.
While episodes of back pain often improve on their own, recurring or persistent pain usually indicates deeper mechanical issues such as joint restriction, muscular weakness, or poor load distribution.

Signs & Symptoms

- Dull, aching, or sharp pain in the lower back
- Stiffness, especially in the morning or after inactivity
- Pain that worsens with sitting, bending, or lifting
- Difficulty standing fully upright or moving freely
- Muscle tightness or spasms
- In some cases, radiating pain into the hips or legs
